I know its off topic (sorta) but I'm gonna say it anyway.

1000 yard accuracy is a combination of things...rifle, ammo, and shooter.

Sporter rifles can sling bullets to 1000 yards, but the "whip" if that thin 24" barrel will wreak havoc on accuracy...add to that the inconsistency of factory hunting ammo and the effects of temperature and humidity on that wood stock...you'd be lucky to hit a barn, let alone a deer.

Get the Remington...none are any better, several are worse.

I can edit it to say 500 yds if it will help you sleep easier . That is probably more realistic but I know people who shoot 1000 yds with irons and and an M14 but that is neither here nor there.
Makes no difference to me, just seems the term is bandied about quite a bit with little regard to what it really means. And like I said the level of acceptable accuracy for your situation really is the determining factor....m-14's with irons at 1000 can certainly be done, but the targets are pretty big usually. But heck if a gut can hit a pickup truck at 1000 with iron sights he's better off than me.
