EDIT : I flubbed the 700 is a remington.
My local shooting range has a real nice wood stocked REMINGTON 700 bolt rifle in 7 mm with a BIG scope of some kind. The rifle appears to be in excellent condition and the kicker is it is a left handed bolt which has huge appeal to a leftie like me. They are asking 500 for it. Is this a killer deal?
I do not know anything about 7 mm. How does it as a cartridge perform versus like a 270 or 30.06 or .308? My ideal would be a rifle and cartridge that would be accurate out to the 600 to 800 yard range for target shooting. The ideal would also be able to kill a georgia size deer at that range too although I don't see those kind of open spaces here. Maybe one day I will be out west and help tame a prairie dog town
I know the army starts off with the 700 for its sniping rifle in 308 so I assume they are good. true?
