I currently have an Uncle Mike's IWB holster for my XD9 service. However, it is not remotely comfortable when sitting down and doesn't conceal the butt as much as I'd like. I'm a skinny guy & I don't wear baggy clothes, but my shirts are not tight either. I think I'd prefer IWB (unless they are all this uncomfortable? Otherwise, outside WB will do)

I don't want to spend a fortune, but what are my options?

Take a look at the Comp-Tac MTAC hybrid leather/Kydex IWB. I've carried an XD45C in one daily for a couple years and it's extremely comfortable.

I'll second the MTAC for the "under $100" category". Those work well for a lot of people. To conceal the grip you want something canted or one that has an adjustable cant like the mtac. Usually a canted holster is somewhere around 15-25 degrees. They sometimes use the term "FBI cant" in the description. That will help immensely in keeping the grip from poking out. Uncle Mike's holsters are generally...well....not so good.

I bought a cross breed holtster for my Walther P99. I am still making some minor adjustments, but it has been fairly comfortable. It really puts the gun up against your body and hides it well.

I'm fond of the Don Hume Leathergoods holsters for my various XD's. They have several, but I particularly like the H726, which is a high ride, front break holster. It conceals large pistols very well, and is comfortable.

Hope this helps.

Fred

Hybrid is the way to go, it spreads out the weight and keeps the clips from bulking up the gun.
I like my SuperTuck, and I'm fairly pleased with my other products from CrossBreed. Search my posts for some detailed pictures of a slightly aged SuperTuck.

FIST #43 allows for eithr IWB or OWB and provides a strong and stable platform in each.

This pic is of my XD45 Service in the FIST holster and, for the record, this holster will also fit the XD 9. Note both the belt clip and the belt loops. Great, versatile carry for the XD.
