So just for future reference:

I have a tall slim build and i have decided that a Slim 9mm autoloader is my next dream. I know im poor and in a bind, but one can dream right?

Anyways, Kahr PM9/CW9, and Kel-tec p11. I plan IWB(mostly), OWB, and occasional Shoulder holster for jacket weather.

Is there an option of slim 9mm auto's that i am missing?

off the top of the head the S&W 39 series comes to mind , and sig makes a fine one as well . Oh and i carry a kahr p series everyday myself .

Walther PPS, only the first editions are available at the moment, some of the normal ones should start getting into the market.

Thin is officially in.

I did consider a BHP, but overall size was still a bit on the large side.

I had no idea SA made a compact 9mm 1911.

Thanks for the great options so far everyone and keep em coming!

Without a doubt

...

Not tall, but slim here, and let me point the way to the picture above, and below, of a Springfield 1911 EMP 9mm 9+1 all-beauty, tack-driver, best CCW born to ride with us slim peaceful warriors..

Don't drive yourself crazy looking for the thinnest gun for concealment.

I started out with a KelTec P11 and I also have a P3AT. I carry a big fat clunky Ruger P95 90% of the time. It ain't any harder to hide than the P11 and it's sure a lot easier to shoot well. Hiding a gun isn't hard at all with an IWB holster.

+1 to the HK p7psp not much bigger than the Kahr/Keltec but accuracy as good or better than any duty size 9mm.

slim pickings...

:D couldn't resist that title.

Probably the "best" slim 9mm that you are going to find would be a Browning High Power. I have had the pleasure of shooting one of these and I can say they are extremely nice pistols. 1911's are another design that springs to mind when talking slim guns. The holster i have for my 1911 will also work fine for a BHP.

With that said it's not always the width that'll get ya. A lot has to do with the grip size for a CCW, as you may well know, so I do agree that you shouldn't limit some of the "thicker" options out there. But seeing as you asked for slim I don't think you would be disappointed with a BHP.

Well, if you want cheap, reliable, and slim, perhaps you can still find one of the Star BM 9mm compact autos. I haven't seen them for a while, but they used to go for well under $200 each, and were quite good 1911 style clones. I heard very little bad about them.
What is your budget? Do you want DA/SA, or DAO, or SAO? Would a Hi-Power clone work, like the Arcus or FEG? I tend to think my favorite CZ-75 is reasonably slim, with a 16 roung factory mag, and can be found used for under $400, sometimes much less. Excellent DA/SA auto.

The new Walther PPS seems to be a good choice. That's the first I have heard of the little Para LDA 9mm. That looks interesting. I've never considered a Hi Power or a CZ 75 slim, but obviously others have different opinions.

PF-9s are under $250 in the D/FW Texas area plus another $40 for hard chrome when you can find them. It carries 8 rounds of Cor-Bon, weighs 12.7 oz and is only .88” wide. Trigger pull is about 5.5 to 6lbs new but can be reduced to under 4lbs with after market mods. Get one with serial number above R3Pxx to have the newest frame upgrade.

How slim are you wanting? Have you looked at a Taurus Mil Pro PT111

12+1 of 9mm and even though its a bouble stack its still only 1.1 inches thick

http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?id=18&category=Pistol

or if you want to step up to the 45acp you can get the PT145 10+1 at 1.25 inches thick

http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?id=40&category=Pistol

or the single stack 45acp PT745 at the same 1.1 inches thick as the PT111 9mm

I know this is kind of an off the wall suggestion, but see if you can find yourself a Chinese Tokarev in 9mm (Norinco 213, for example). Were not talking about Browning levels of refinement, but it should be thin, reliable and cheap. My main concern would be relying on that funky BATFE-import special safety.

Don't miss the point implicit in rhubarb's post above - be sure you can HIT with what you're carrying. In order to get fast and good with most guns, you have to SHOOT 'em a LOT. Sometimes I have to carry a KelTec P3AT, which is thinner than anything else mentioned above, but I can't stand to shoot it more than a dozen shots or so at a session. I had the same problem with a KelTec P11, which is a lot wider than the little 380 but still was most uncomfortable for me to shoot more than a dozen or two shots.

So before you plunk down hard cash for a thin jewel, try to find out if you can really shoot it. Borrow one if you can, rent one if you have to, but try to see what it's like going off in your hand A LOT. If it's no fun to shoot you won't shoot it much, and both your competence and your confidence will suffer.

Beware of relying on statistics over looking at the gun. For example, my Makarov has the same published width as a Glock 26, but the Mak is only that wide across the safety lever while the Glock is that wide all over - end-to-end slide and top-to-bottom grip. I guarantee you there is a completely different sense of bulk between the two, even though they may spec out the same.

Keep in mind also that what you actually strap on every day is a combination of gun AND HOLSTER. You can add a lot of width to the package with thick or multi-layered leather, while the thin Kydex holsters from FIST (for example - what I happen to have one of in front of me) add practically nothing to the width of the gun.
