Few stories from my life lately that just have me beeming...

First was when I was down working the 3D film Expo that the Co. I work for did and had the theatre manager make a comment to me... I'm thinkin it may have had something to do with wearing this every night... ;)

(face smudged because it was a goofy face I was making)

The next morning I needed to go buy something and asked him where the nearest place was to get it. As I was leaving I clapped my hands and said: "I'm goin walkin on Hollywood Blvd." His response: "Be sure you got your .38 snubby close" :what: My head whipped around and I told him if I had anything it would be my "Ruger 9" Rasta man theatre manager and I had a GREAT conversation about guns and shooting and we were so into it I had to send someone else to pick up the item I needed... Whoda thunkit...

2nd occurance... Company private wrap party after said Expo...

A little background... Uber-liberal boss keeps threatening to have me take him to the range to learn how to shoot... I haven't pushed but he does bring it up every now and again. Talked to David and decided we needed company day at the range to teach any and all that want to learn...

So at dinner boss brings it up again, in front of even more uber-liberal wife and I tell him that I am planning a company day at the range and just need to work out the details... The one person that I work with that I really don't like (we have a history and she likes me no more than I her) speaks up VERY EXCITED and tells me she wants in on it... again... :what: RIGHT ON! ! ! !

Apparantly she grew up around guns and was the only sibling that pops never taught to shoot. Had her boyfriend take her and got sooooo frustrated with his nit picking (and it was on dumb stuff for a first time out) that she put the gun down and doesn't want to go with him again... She is excited and I told her I would take her anytime one on one if she wants to go...

3rd occurance... Daughter plays HS football and is also JR ROTC...

Being the shooter that she is, she's bummed that the only things they get to shoot in JRROTC are paintball guns. So last night I pick her up from the game and she's just busting... "What's up girl, good game?" No mom, you have to print out a copy of me shooting Shawn's .50 so I can show coach..." HUH?
Apparantly they were talking while waiting for parents to arrive and the subject of shooting came up (He was asking her how she liked ROTC and of course she told him about the no shooting). He told her that he has shot one of those .50 handguns (can't remember) and she proceeded to tell him about her experience. Seems he was a little jealous so she asked if we could invite him shooting with us next time... Makes a Mom so proud.. :D

So there ya have it... Proof positive that ya just never know when a shooter or wanna be shooer may stumble into your lap...

Way to go Mauserlady.........get em one at a time mam.....one at a time.:D
A journey of a 1000 miles begins with the first step.;)

You gotta let me know when your going, I'll roll out the .50. Of course if it's at "The Gun Store" range, I don't think they'll be to happy.:neener:

If you could set it up at the Desert Marksman, we could be in business. Just need to know someone that's a member or do it when the range is open to the public.

Company range day will be at the Gun Shop, and they definitely would NOT be happy to see you walk in with THAT gun case... :D

But if/when we invite coach out, it will be at the normal spot and I will for sure let you know...

Gun people coming out of the closet. That's good, but they should never have been driven underground to begin with. Good work Mauserlady.

Great story ML. I am always amazed when I run into a fellow gun nut here in California.

Hmmm when are we going to have a desert shoot so Me and the Wife can cut loose with my M14 and my SKS's? Might be worth a trip down from N Cal.---Oneshot
:D :D :D

I hear what your saying Gary and I couldn't ever imagine feeling like I had to hide my love of shooting or guns...

In the case of Rasta man theatre manager, we had just met for the festival so I count that one more as a "getting to know ya" type..

The coach - same thing as above. Daughter's a freshman and first year on the team so we had no other encounter.

Now as far as co-worker, not sure as everyone there knows I shoot and am very vocal in my pro-stance... Only thing I can think of is, the sour grapes we had towards each other prior to dinner held her back...
