Thanks for the further clarification hvengle. It seems I wasn't completely wasting my time and mag springs. I'm glad it wasn't complete 'BS'....I guess.:rolleyes:
 
I don't know why you all are arguing the law. All airlines and airports make up their own rules, often at a moments notice. If you want to fly, you follow their rules. I once had a tiny allen wrench confiscated because they defined it as a "tool" and tools were prohibited. I asked if a tape measure or piece of sandpaper would be allowed and they said "yes", but couldn't deny they were "tools" too. I asked to see the rules in writing, and was told they were "secret" and couldn't be shown to passengers. So the choice becomes, fly or not fly.
Do your best to follow their rules and don't be surprised when something goes wrong.
 
I fly almost every week with loaded magazines in a locking Kimber guncase. I've never had a problem with it: Denver, Memphis, Lincoln, Kansas City airports.
