Guys,
I know not everyone likes Dick's (I'm not a big fan either).

However, if you got the coupon from the paper (50% off 2nd box of ammo) and use the $10 rebates that both Remington and Winchester have out now. You can get 30-30 ammo for:

$24 for 2 boxes
-$6 for coupon
= $18 out the door
-$10 for rebate
= $8 total price for 2 boxes of 30-30!

Pretty good deal I think, and since they both have the rebate out you can get a total of 4 boxes for $16!

Just fyi. Now I need to get the rebates mail.

Their weekly flyer.

Didn't know about the Win and Rem deal.

I plan to stop in to the Dick's by where I work tomorrow night to pick up some 243 and 35 Remington. I also have my eye on a 24 gun safe they have advertised,

I have noticed that the 50% off coupons seem to show up in the ad flyer about 2 weeks after the price goes up. I fell for it a couple of times. that was enough for me.

I can get the same stuff w/o the coupon elsewhere for less. Why fool with a gimmick?

they had it in the Sunday Paper around here, the 50% coupon...but I bought the Wolf 12 gauge slugs at MC Sporting goods for 99 cents a box! Heck, I bought 20 boxes!!!

Yeah I miss Galyans too. They had a nice mix of sporting goods, camping, and hunting/fishing. Ever since Dicks bought them the store nearest me has turned into a 90% "trendy" sports clothing store with a big golf section and a lot of kayaks all around the place. The camping section is 80% junk and the hunting/fishing section is one small corner that I swear shrinks more each time I'm in there.

i like dicks more than wal-mart. the 'hunting lodge' in the dick's by me is always staffed by the same guys and i got to know em pretty well. they always price match and stuff for me, so i really cant complain about them.

I just got a couple boxes of .30-30 from Dick's with the rebate. I was surprised that they had to walk me to the counter with the ammo.

I felt very uncomfortable buying it there and I doubt I'll go back. Some things just aren't worth the couple dollars that you save.

They walked you to the counter??
that's idiotcy.
They usually only do that when you buy a gun and then they walk you out the door like a criminal.

I bought a case of Winchester AA 12 gauge shells for 42.98 sunday

I carried them to the register unaccompanied.

A couple of times a year they will have a good deal on 10/22s and ammo and they dont make a grand show of selling a gun like the nitwits at walmart including warning me that the police will come if I'm denied and arrest me:rolleyes:.
No idea that a ccw in Delware obviates the need for a state background check. :banghead: Which is something every FFl holder in Delaware knows.

I've noticed a lot of their coupons don't apply to evil things like ammo or firearms! :barf:

Might want to check the fine print just to make sure it's ok.

I bought a case of their $5.98/box Remington UMC 9mm, but the cash register rang it up at $6.98.

Had to get the manager over to manually fix it, held the line up, got dirty looks. I almost considered feeling bad about it, for a second there. :)

Just another experience at Tricky Dick's.

Cavalry: That happened to me twice, 4 weeks apart, at Dicks. Each time it had to go through a number of people to be corrected at the price register, ending with the cashier manually adjusting the price of each box to the appropriate price. I was buying 20 boxes and it took quite awhile to sort out.

Also, the sales clerk and the manager had to make phone calls to see if purchasing 1000 rounds at a time was legal.

I've had the same experience at the register, but make sure I have the flyer in my hand and it's never been a problem. The bottom line is that you can't beat their prices if you watch the sales. As far as pleasant sales help, it's in short supply everywhere. Maybe the Democrats will address this problem.
