Used to be the cost on the 6.5 Swede rifle training ammo, either the wooden blanks or the teenie tiny wadcutterish gallery rounds, was so cheap that the shipping was frequently more than the ammo.

Now I can find neither.

Any ideas on where I might find some at reasonable prices?

The Swedish M-38 rifle (the last 6.5x55mm rifle used by the Swedes) was replaced in the 1960s. I'd be will to bet the ammo to which you refer is pretty much gone. No doubt cartridge collectors have some still, but not at prices for shooting casually.

PPU makes good quality 6.5x55mm ammo for general shooting, but not the reduced power and range stuff. If you have to have blanks or very short range ammo, I should think reloading is your only option.

Bought some from J&G sales out of Prescott in December at SAR show in Phoenix. Bought several thousand rounds. What do you use it for? Load muzzle blast but bullit burns up before hitting target.

I had a mil-surp Swede not that long ago, and honestly it shot the inexpensive PPU Serbian ammo (139 grain IIRC) better than I could. I was so impressed with the groups that I never bothered to buy any other type of ammo, or handload for it. I routinely shot 4-5" groups at 400 yards with that rifle and PPU ammo.

My CZ also likes the PPU. That’s what I used until I started reloading using the PPU Brass. The PPU is on the dirty side it seems like and from what I’ve read velocity is slower than what is stated. But it is very accurate in my 6.5x55.
