Those are all excellent options, it really comes down to a matter of personal preference. I'm loading a lot of DPX these days, there are plenty of guys here who will always swear by the Gold Dot. Any of the loads you linked will serve well for HD/SD.

Not much help in choosing one, but at least be assured there isn't a "wrong one" to go with.

Any of those mentioned would work well, I suspect. If I were you, I'd buy one box of each, shoot, and buy more of whatever flavor your gun shoots most accurately. For my 625 Mountain Gun, it was a tossup between the silvertips and the gold dots, so I bought some of both.

I would get the CorBon DPX. Heck at $45 per box, nobody better even try to get in the house.

That was my recommendation for you, if it was me, I would buy the cheapest bullets I could get. They are still quite powerful and the easiest for you to shoot would be the best in a stressful situation.

Does anyone know why those DPX rounds are so much more expensive than others?

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to get a box of each and see how they all are.

I always liked the Winchester Silvertips when I used to buy commercial ammo for my .45 Colt.

Shooting 45Colt is one of the great reasons for getting into handloading. 44mag, 41mag, and 10mm are just a few more. You can load great ammo for $6/50, or pay $25/20 for factory ammo.
