So I went into wally world today and decided to look at prices of .45 auto $14.84 a box of CCI Blazer ammo :what: Last month it was $12.27, now there is no real discussion other than ***. This sucks prices keep going up :banghead:

Wallmart, has 40cal ammo at $12.00 a box.so i think they still have the best price around town for ammo. If anyone knows of something better please let me know.

Prices aren't just going up at Walmart. They are going up at the mail order websites I order from, such as Ammo To Go.

Maybe there is an increased demand. I have been stockpiling ammo myself due to the likelihood of extreme gun control measures being passed beginning in 2009. My guess is that either Obama or Hillary will be our next president, and if the Democrats win more seats in Congress, there is going to be absolutely Draconian gun control laws. I am therefore stocking up on spare hi-cap magazines, gun parts, and ammo.

I'm a machinist.

And how is that gun related, says you? I'll tell you. Metal prices are up all across the board. Steel, copper, lead, nickel, brass, you name it. My shop is fulfilling orders placed six months ago from overseas customers. And we're taking it right up the, well never mind. The fact is everything made of metal either costs more or soon will. Demand is higher in the U.S. than it was, China and India are booming technologically, and that means using metal. There's a war on, that requires metal. Investors see usage going up, they buy stock and shares, the market drives it up further. It won't be going away anytime soon, either.

Want to hit the lottery? play these numbers. Hint: you can't buy this ticket at the convenient store.

Inflation is at 20% in REAL numbers. The Gov't does not count food and energy in there numbers. Food is up 20-30% over last year with no end i site. Ammo prices will probably come down, but the reason will be due to a very weak economy and I do mean VERY weak. The party is over. We were lucky you live in part of the last 100 years, the greatest standard of living in the "known" human history. So when the STTF don't feel depressed, it is the NORM for human history.
