Ammo question

Cabelas offers ammo for sale. Some is 'name branded', some is listed as 'remanufactured' and some does not say either. It is called, by them, bulk ammo and I take it that it comes loose in large containers, not in boxes for individual rounds.

Anybody have any experience with their 'bulk ammo' and its quality? Thanks.

Well, for the price of their "bulk" ammo, you can get commercial "brand" ammo from other sources. Cabela's is universally known for being over-priced.

Walmarts ammo prices are good if you have one locally, Cabelas prices are not great.

Cabales ships their products via UPS. Bullets, ammo and any heavy items are not packaged properly and arrive opened and the contents that remain in the packages are mixed together. Buy directly from the manufacturer, spend a little, save a lot.

I have not noticed Cabela's bulk ammo. The last time I purchased bulk ( before I started reloading ), bulk .45ACP was ~$0.17/rd with shipping. Their bulk ammo is usually Ultramax and is shipped in individual 50rd boxes. Cabela's is not near as cheap as reloading, but will do in a pinch. I have not had damamged packages from Cabela's, a few from MidwayUSA, but not Cabela's. Midway is another place to purchase reasonably priced ammo.

I don't usually shoot reloads, but for some expensive and hard to find calibers I've found Miwall to be pretty decent and reasonably priced.

cabelas is high on their ammo i agree with that other guy go to wal-mart

cabelas used to be a great sourse for my ak and ar ammo, but that was sometime back in early 2005 since then i have been floored by their proces and i don't buy ammo from them.
