If you live close to an Academy Sports chain store...

Winchester SuperX 12ga / 1oz / 7.5 or 8 shot
or
Winchester Super X 20 ga / 7/8oz / 7.5 or 8 shot

Either for $3.99 / box

Limit 2 cases

That's a pretty good price around here! Published in the Nashville paper. Wally World will match it if you got one close as well.

That's a good price, but be forewarned that this is the stuff that can give extraction issues in some shotguns (my 870s don't like it but my 1100s do).

Yeah I have heard about the 870's not liking some ammo. Seems to be a recent thing with the Express models from what I read here. My Wingmaster 870 seems to shoot anything I choose to throw in it including some poorly looking reloads. Seems to work well in my others so far as well. (Savage 24,BPS, 1100's, and 1300's) I went wild today and shot a box out of the end of every shotgun I own! The humidity was down, the temperature was tolerable, I bought my two cases of ammo, and had a good time. Now my shoulder is sore, but worth every bit of it. This weekend will bring about some time cleaning the tools I guess:)

Eh - in my unschooled opinion, it's good enough for casual work. If I miss inside of 35 yards using the Win SuperX fodder, it's likely not the ammo's fault. So for just trying to hone some muscle memory, the SuperX works just fine. At $40/case, it's hard to say no.

I picked up ten cases yesterday. Figure that should get me down the road a spell.

Burned a case today, thru two Rem1100s. I had two FTF, with the shell caught akimbo 'twixt the bolt face and the ejection port. Nary a FTE. I missed some targets when I wasn't aligned right. I hit most of the targets, when I focused and hit the marks. Never had anything untoward happen that I could lay at the feet of the ammo.

And that makes it good enough for practice fodder in my book.

And it didn't even break 100F today - a real treat. :)

crappy hulls and light shot charges, not a bargain.

I won't be reloading them so the hulls are a non issue. The light loads are actually preferred by me for clay shooting, especially when I might be shooting a case in a day. They are not high end ammo for sure. But you know, if they fit the need than all is well. If they don't then spend your dollars elsewhere. I just thought some of us might not know about the sale.
