Local Dick's Sporting Goods has PLENTY of American Eagle Tactical XM193 5.56x45 in the 200-round boxes for $119 per box. Hardly a great deal, but I was happy to see that it's at least available.

It's weird. New York, New Jersey and Maryland all surround Pennsylvania, and are some of the most farged up, restrictive states in the union. Pennsylvania sits like an oasis in the middle of the left-wing loon desert of those states.
I reload, so I can't say I feel your pain. I feel bad for you and others who are struggling to find ammo right now, but I saw the handwriting on the wall over a year ago and made the plunge in reloading and don't regret a bit.
45acp is the easiest to reload, IMO, and starting to aquire reloading equipment is probably not a bad idea..if you can find it

Pennsylvania has good laws because people have been fleeing the cities long enough to loosen their grip on the statehouse. Maryland is anchored by the DC suburbs and Baltimore; most of the state geographically is sane, but the population skews crazy. Likewise most of New York state is sane, but New York City skews the demographics.

Scheels in Sioux Falls, SD had full ammo shelves a couple days ago. .45, .380, .223, pretty much everything. Loaded up, but am going to be eating ramen noodles for a couple weeks.

PA is about as left wing as NY, NJ, et al. After all, you have Specter, Casey and Rendell, as well as Nutty (er Nutter) in Philly and PIT passed the 24 hr theft notification law. You may be an oasis when it comes to rural gun laws, but that's it.

As for ammo, it has been popping up a bit more lately. I was able to get a few boxes at 2 different WWs last week.

I saw 10 boxes of WWB .380 at Meijer the other day. I always swore I would never be 'that guy', but I was. Walked out with all 10 boxes.

Yesterday, my local walmart had alot of blazer 9mm and and .40 available, also had remington and winchester .308 and some 30-06...

Primers! I can now walk into 2 outta the 5 shops I frequent and reliably find primers. The shops however have limits one is 200 federal primers and 100 of any other brand. The other shop's limit is 400 of any one type of primer. Now if only Accurate will start sending No5 and No7 powders to the shops I will be back in buisness!

Local WW has some handgun ammo ( .9mm .45acp .40S&W ) but for the first time in 4months no slugs or .22LR CCI. Still had .30/30 :) and other rifle ammo.

380 acp ammo

Last week Cheaper Than Dirt had 380acp for $70 a box. A rip off price. Now they show 380acp for $50 a box. Still a rip off. Don't buy it and the price will continue to drop. The ammo problem is sorting itself out if people will be patient. I don't care for BHO but he really doesn't have anything to do with ammo or gun prices. Conservative Demos are neutering him just like the liberals did Bush. We should not have problems with him until late in his administration. Those people profiteering on ammo are using the capitalist system and have a right to do so. They are just screwing up the supply system though and personaly I hope they choke on their inventory as supply catches up with demand. Capitalists can be their own worst enemies. Sometimes citizenship means not making the most you can at someone elses expense. I'm sure others will disagree.

I reload the round at .10 a round, ammo shortage has not bothered me a bit, now Primers, there is a different story. Consider re-loading, even on a normal market savings can still be had.......

At a local show last weekend everyone had 380 ammo for sale. Best I saw was $26 for a box of 100 FMJs.

Ammo is flowing like a river here in Sacramento Ca, it wasnt for a good 8 months. Even wally world had no centerfire ammo besides .25 cal. Now the shelves are filled and their is even guns that were unable to purchase before the shortage.

Thats the only 380 i can find, aside from 20 round boxes of buffalo bore for $23 which is to much for plinking rounds. Anyone know where some 380 is online for a decent price?

Frustrating, Eric. I've got box Of Winchester 38 super auto silver tip hp's I Can't use and am looking to trade for .357 of equal quality!

We should find people within our respective ares and trade..have a hunch there's going to be a lot of that going on in the future,

Ammo "Shortage" Over

I see prices dropping and supplies going up rapidly. How are things in your areas?

I came across a well-stocked Walmart. Found another place that had plenty of the dreaded .380 as well.

Still haven't seen much. There's more in stock, slightly, so maybe the shortage is ending. But the price-gouging continues.

More seems to be coming in (except .45acp, where there is ever-so-slightly more) but moves off the shelves just as fast. WalMart and Academy seem to be selling at the same prices they always have...

Quantities are up, shelves have more ammo.....prices have not gone down.

My local shop and Wal Mart has had everything for the past 3 months...even the dicks has everything!
