Gunfighter,

I once saw a progressive shot shell re-loader that the owner had rigged an air ram to. All he did was feed shells, watch football, and step on a button. By the end of the game he had enough rounds for several weeks of skeet. I think the Dillon 1050 would be good for that. I wish I had pics, but he's to far gone and I don't think there are any of him doing it. No one thought to take pics of dad in his rec room watching football.

I always like to see folks trying to find the next, newer, better way to do things in this industry. However, I agree with the folks who said that this would probably be a $30 million plus sort of venture! If you can find the capital, and have the business sense for it, more power to you! I sure don't have those resources, but will start loading again on my Lee Classic Turret press just as soon as I get some bullets (as is, I borrowed primers from a friend).

coloradokevin,

I disagree, I think with 10k in equipment and another 10k or so of start up capital you could get started as a part time hobby business. Start your clientele small, and expand from there. That's how I got into appliance repair. I started working for hotels fixing the through the wall A/C units, and wound up with several large rental agencies as they're only appliance repair company. I still, even though my main business has changed, have a couple of companies that won't use anyone else. I just wedged my way into a niche and spread myself over the entire market area. Never underestimate the power of hard work, and perseverance.

I think the same thing could be done here with say the best selling 2 calibers, and branch out from there. Here in TX that would probably mean 9mm and 5.56 nato, but in AK they have a very different market I'm sure. I read once not to long ago that they are THE market for Single Action large bore revolvers due to wildlife (read bear) attacks. So those may not be the calibers for that market, but once those loads are identified push the heck out of them until you have established yourself, and then branch out slowly.

It can all be done slowly. Just preserve and work. This is (for the moment) still the free capitalist country of America. Believe in yourself and the system and work hard and you WILL be rewarded.
