I'm having a problem with the base pin walking out of this gun. There is a lot of forward slack in the pin when the gun is assembled, and I think that is contributing to my problem.

Any ideas, or should I just buy an aftermarket pin?

Do you have one with the black-powder style frame with the set-screw?

Or the one with the spring-loaded push-release?

If the latter, an extra strength spring might help. Or it might not!
Some of the clones are very loose with the hole drilled too big, or slightly off-center.

The problem is, I don't know where you can get an extra-power spring for it anyway.

Wolff makes them for Colt, Uberti, and many other clones, but state they do not work in EMF Hartford guns.

A Belt-Mountain base pin with a locking set-screw might be your best & final fix.

It has the push release. There is no lateral movement that I can feel, but like I said, the forward movement is substantial.

I think its probably a combination of poor fit and a weak spring. Think I'll start with the spring and work from there.
