An Afternoon With The PCC

Yep, they get a LOT of hate but I have LONG liked the PCC as a "around the home" gun. I was not a fan of the 9mm until decades ago when I bought one for Wife since she is super sensitive to recoil. Then found that with good ammo the 9mm moves at what a .357 does from a 4inch wheel gun when coming out of a 16 inch tube. I started looking at it in a whole new light. Wife can handle the Ruger, likes to play with it, so can be very accurate. With 33 round "happy sticks" makes one hell of a nice home gun.
The High Points when I first started seeing them were less that $150. I was just sure they had to be junk till a buddy bought one. Back when they looked like those rifles from the original Planet of The Apes movie. Damned little gun just worked. Only real down side was the damn proprietary mags but the rifles were one hell of a lot of bang for your buck and still are.
I was a decades-long user of Mp5/Mp5k sub guns, I really like the 9mm in small, handy carbines for HD duties. IMHO, the Ruger PC9 or Kel Tec carbine is a fine option .

Stay safe.

I shoot a K-T S2K in 9mm and like it, but as mentioned, it has a surprising amount of recoil.

Being a lefty, I also have to be careful of the hot gases and particles coming out of the ejection port.

I replaced the junk plastic front sight with a metal AK type one, much better in my opinion.

Can't beat the folding ability that allows it to be carried in a laptop shoulder bag. That it takes Glock mags is nice, too.

I can't think off hand of a gun that generates more hate than KT but I sure love them. When I had my .40 KT S2K it beat hell out of me. It was so fun I would easily run several hundred rounds through it in a session. Next day it felt like I had been kicked in the shoulder. I was going to find a way to adapt a recoil pad to it. When I found out how well the 9mm did I just re-homed the .40. It has spent a lot of time in a laptop bag, with the laptop in there. No one gives it a second glance. If I manage to wear it out I will buy a Gen II. They made some nice changes on the Gen II version.

I'll agree that 9mm is the sweet spot for the Sub 2K. A friend had one in 40 and it beat me up, just punching me the cheek with the buffer tube. It put me off for years until I decided to gamble on the 9, and I'm glad I did.

It's a harder kicker than "9mm PCC" might make you think, but it's not painful or objectionable. The recoil force and the to-and-fro momentum of the heavy bolt reminds me a lot of an AK.
