This poor old Pony has been wearing rubber grips ever since I bought it 10 years ago. (Colt Official Police 38)
Ran across a nice set of wood grips and decided the old horse deserved new shoes.

Nice!
I intensely dislike rubbers.
Wood is definitely the way to go.

Do you like how they fit your hand?

Very good fit to my hand. Most grips are either a bit too small or a bit too big for my hands. These are just about right. They feel a lot like S&W K Frame combat grips, but just a bit larger.
Weather is supposed to be good here saturday. Low 40s. Might have to take the old pony out in the back yard and let it run for a while.

Pachmayr rubber grips fit my hand better than the vast majority of factory revolver stocks, but they're far inferior to custom stocks, plus they're just plain ugly. I wonder why nobody's ever made revolver grips out of plastic. They ought to be easy to cast in shapes and sizes that fit better than factory wooden stocks, and if the design included checkering, they'd be less likely to turn slippery in one's hand from sweat. I doubt I'd like the look and feel of plastic, but if rubber, why not plastic?

Took the old Colt out and fed it 50 rounds using the new grips this morning.
The old pony did good. Was able to double action pop cans at 20 yards pretty reliably.
Not bad for an old service revolver.
