Is anybody familiar with Anderson MFG. & their products? There are a proliferation of their AM-15 stripped lower receivers on the market which are being offered for as low as $50.00 from various vendors online.

One of the vendors states that Anderson MFG. is a DOD contractor.

I know Anderson made the "Colt" LE6900 rifle which wasn't very well-received and was quickly discontinued.

I have handled some of their stripped lowers before - they looked decent, but have a much shinier finish than most, so they might not match your typical Type III black anodized upper from BCM/PSA/Spikes, etc.

I just finished a build on an Anderson Arms lower. Everything went together with no hassles or fit issues so at least my example was in-spec. As far as the anodizing is concerned, it matches my PSA upper just about perfectly. I will be buying another the next time the gunshow hits town for a rainy day build.

I've have used 5 Anderson lowers for different builds. I've used a JSE upper, RedX upper, Anderson "blem" upper that I built on w/different parts, some floated handguard some w/the std bolt. I have 1 more to put together for a 300 blackout build I'm saving for. So far all have been very good going together. I don't have a lot of range time on them but usually fire a couple hundred rounds after a build just to check function. I get the lowers local to me, well sorta, it's about 100 miles away but a nice weekend drive.

I had zero problems out of the Anderson lower on my AR that I recently sold. The only negative, is you can build a high end AR that runs perfectly and looks bad ass, but if it has a "knock-off brand" lower receiver, it isn't worth more than $750-$800 in the eyes of most. I found someone that appreciated what was underneath and got a fair dollar for it, but I had to find the right buyer. Next time, I'll use a Spikes or BCM if I can find one on sale. Sad, but true..

I'm a dealer for Anderson and have sold tons of their components. Until recently, I never had any problems but just got in a batch of barrels with serious problems. Gas ports completely left out or only partially drilled, barrels not staked, etc. I sent them all back and the replacements were fine.
