Angry british guy goes on rant about guns

He already stated he was an authoritarian which means he has a feeling and idea that he knows better than you because he watches the news and knows how to use the internet. I would not waste my time with someone who already stated its a moot point to debate guns.

Its all a rant from a person who obviously does not have first hand experience of hunting or weaponry for that matter.
 
Don't wrestle with a pig. The guy isn't about to be convinced. Anyone who can ignore or justify the Palestinians sending their boys and girls to blow themselves up just to take out Israelis isn't about to listen to logic. It's not a "Muslim" thing, it's a "victim" thing. His whole diatribe is one great big emotional conglomeration. Antis often throw their arguments out that way, knowing that if you take time to refute each and every lie they bring up that you'll grow tired of the effort. Ad hominem attack after ad hominem attack. You ain't gonna convince him, and I wouldn't try unless there are other parties to this conversation that you would like to convince.
 
Anybody who claims a gun owner is compensating for something won't ever be able to understand gun ownership and RKBA.
 
He starts off talking about Israel, fastforward a bit and he starts talking about gun control, this guy sounds like a psycho. Any ideas what I should respond with?

He is in my opinion,a first-class wanker-to put it midly.He has no concept of how licensing proceedures work in any country or about the history and political strife,between countries-due to tribalism.He is what I would call a stereo-typical "peace-activist" so don't waste your time on this guy anymore than you have to.Just say that he is a total wanker,ignorant of history and society and maybe then he'll get the message-I hope.
 
Don't waste your time on people like him. Spend the time doing something more productive like convincing somebody who isn't a complete jeb-end, or watching paint dry.

Nothing ... this idiot doesn't speak on behalf on my country - he is a self-opinionated half-wit ... Insulting people(s) is about as difficult a 'putting a hat on' ... look I just did it! ... Just ignore him
 
He's not worth listening to. Someone who lives in a place where he couldn't legally own or carry a gun for self defense can't speak from the experience of someone who can or does thus giving him no experience or associated credibility with which to support his claims.
 
Rather than "respond" to this guy with the intent of changing his mind(which will never happen), use him as a sounding board to show all the other readers where this guy is wrong, and use this same opportunity to put forward the truth. Not everyone out there has their mind made up. Help those people with this golden opportunity.

Yup. Just ignore his rants and, if you want to respond, put your own barrage of facts up there. If you answer his "points", you're letting him control the argument.

Both of these tactics (laughter and counterattack) are good for making it clear that you couldn't care less about him or his propaganda. If you really want to throw it in his face, point out that he and his kind need us, but we don't need them.
 
Look at the guy who tried to ask about gun control in the Dem debate. He was clueless as to how he would look and sound, but Biden sneered him down, insulted him, and said that people like him should be disarmed and locked up. The elitist, authortarian Biden won. As there would have been no point in arguing with Hitler or Stalin, there is no point in arguing with nuts like that Brit or guys like Biden. They control the turf, and they have long practice in ways to make ordinary people look like fools in front of their elitist and terrorist-loving friends.

I kind of agree with him about Israel. But as for gun control I really disagree.

Why do you always bring these kind of posts onto THR? THis really is not appropriate for THR with the language?
 
I watched more of his videos and he sounds pretty insane, he's screaming and foaming at the mouth in most of them. One of his videos he is clearly admitting that he knows little about America but that (I quote) "The statistics speak for themselves". Probably not worth debating him like you guys said, he's already mindset and sounds like he's already pretty biased towards American lifestyle to begin with.
 
I guess that I was right about him from the start,in that he is a stupid campaigner.He is like a thick version of the Robert Lindsay's character 'Citizen Smith'.I have more respect for the Manic Street Preachers and the Clash,than I have for him,even though they have produced some great songs,they are anti-establishment.I like both of them.

If you want to debate the antis, debate the ones in this country. They are the ones who pose a danger to our losing our rights.
 
Anybody who claims a gun owner is compensating for something, is the one compensating for something. Being a subject rather than a citizen has to carry with it a terrible feeling of impotence in the face of power.

It's fascinating to see the link in his mind between foreign policy issues and gun control. It reminds me of Michael Moore in BFC jumping from some guy with a Ruger and a factory that makes ICBM's. What we're seeing is the product of many years of indoctrination, where they've been taught that guns=war=evil. There's no logic to it, and no higher reasoning. This is why they get so emotional and immediately leap to threats and accusations of the most outrageous sort ("I'll kick your a**", killing children, etc.)
 
You should feel no obligation to attempt to talk to him; he insulted you multiple times (mockery of country accent, speculations about your "endowment", hinting that you're homosexual). He claimed to know the statistics back to front yet he never brought up any statistics or a source thereof.
