Looking for an ankle holster to use with high-top work boots - I usually wear steel-toe, side-zip Danner boots, at work and similiar design when riding the big two-wheeler. - Lots of ankle holsters on the market, just don't seem really suitable for use work full-height boots...I carry a factory-stock Springfield Hellcat...
TIA,
- Lenny

How many pairs of eyelets tall are these boots? My usual work boots have 7 to 8 pair of eyelets. I never even tried to ankle carry with those boots.

Seems like if the boots were tall enough, a person could stich a custom holster right onto the side of the boots above the ankle.

I have an elastic extension that will allow you to use a normal ankle holster with boots, or if your leg is overly big. Im thinking it was made by Desantis, as those are the ankle holsters I use, but I think Galco might make them too.

I just checked Desantis's site, and thats is the one I have...

I forget who makes/carries it, but Ive seen one that laced into the top couple of eyelets on boots. Might have been Galls. I seem to remember seeing it on one of the police supply sites.

That extension will allow you to wear the holster where ever you like on the boot. Its also a lot more comfortable wearing the holster that way too, as the boot takes the brunt of the holster instead of your leg. Only thing you need to watch is, the boot adds bulk, so if you arent wearing pants with full cut legs, it might be an issue.

I have made some boot holsters for MC LEOs and for timber loggers' boots. They all have to be custom made you can try the ones in a previous post, but the design makes for a loose fit. You will need to find a leather worker in your area to do it for you.

8 eyelets, side zipper, composite-toe Danner boots, for work, and a similar design for my riding boots...

I like that idea...
