I am looking for a quality ankle holster for a S&W 342 PD. I have looked at: Aker, Bianchi,DeSantis,Galco,Goodrich & Gould,Michaels of Oregon, and Safariland. I want something that is really comfy and stable. So far my favorite is the Safariland ankle holster. This is for my backup weapon for my PT job. TIA for any help!!

Can I wear that Alessi ankle holsters with boots on? I wear either a 6 inch pair, and soon an 8 inch boots. I need to be able to wear an ankle holster AND boots!!

i've never used his ankle rig, but I have other's of his holsters and agree the alessi's are top notch.

I do have a Renegade ankle holster that's decent for the money--definite step up from uncle mike type stuff

Consider another method of carry. It may save your life someday. Ankle holsters are extremely difficult to access under certain situations.

The ankle rig is for my BACKUP weapon. So, does anyone know if the Alessi ankle rig can be worn with boots on? Thanks again for all your time and responses!

Okay, here ya go....the Renegade Cozy Partner....the Alessi is a great rig but it is a hard molded holster attached to a thick leather band....this is a soft pouch attached to elastic....much more concealable....I wear mine over Gergia boots with straight leg jeans...try that with a hard molded rig...at around 50 bucks, this is the best deal around...and don't worry about that strap...you don't have to undo it...it is just for putting the weapon in...all it takes is a good tug....

Not to be a pain, but what kinde of boots are those? I am wearing Thorogood TASAR boots. (which are excellent by the way.), 6 inch lace up tactical boots. Soon to be receiving my 8 inch TASAR's.

I have a Galco ankle glove which work very well for me. I have one for my Glock 26 and one for my snubbie. I had an Alessi, which was well made and worked well for retention, but did not conceal as well for me. It rode lower than the Galco. I sold it to another guy, who was very happy with it. I don't think any of the three ankle holsters I have used would work well with boots unless they were very low topped boots with a thick top.

I use a Galco Glove Ankle Holster for my Glock 27 and really like it! It conceals very well in slacks or jeans (don't know about with boots as I wear it with dress shoes or tennis shoes) I also have heard nothing but good things about the Alessi! Good Luck!

I have 4 years on a Fobus ankle rig for my j-frame(s). I don't wear it every day, but retention is not a problem and it conceals well with boots and blue jeans.

Cheap, but effective.
