I have been thinking of going over to the Anniston CMP store and checking out some of the target .22's. Has anyone been there lately? Do they have anything besides Kimber 82's? Is it worth a 3 hour drive? Thanks

Might want to go to the CMP website and shoot and email to Orest. Last I heard they had no .22's.

I went last March and picked up a couple of Garands. God I could spend days in that place and a fortune!

I think the South Store had some Kimber bolt action .22s and another make/model that I can't recall at the moment when I was there a couple weeks ago. Kimbers are on the wall right inside the door, the others were on the far side of the last rack -- go straight towards the far wall and hang the last left, they were right there.

I'd guess 10 or so Kimbers were on the shelves, maybe 15 or so of the other model.

were the other ones H&R M12? If so you happen to remember a price on those? Also are the Kimbers the same price at the store as online?

I think they may have been. Definitely weren't the Remingtons they had a while back.

If you want I am heading through Anniston (well, I-20) on Thursday, could run in and take a look around and report back on what's there. (I have a hard time staying out of the place whenever I'm remotely in the area, anyway, so was thinking about making a stop there already.)

That would be very cool of you. I want to go but it is about 3 to 3 1/2 hours for me to drive there.

Thanks

I was over there about a week and a half ago. They had a bunch of .22 rifles but i didn't pay attention to the make/model. I was focused on picking out my M1 Carbine(1945 Inland):). Give them a call, they are nice folks and will help you out. Good Luck.
