According to the S&W Catalog 4th Edition, 500 of these were made in 1989 for Mich Police Supply with the Unfluted Cylinder and Smooth Wood Grips. I’ve never seen another one nor has anyone else I know. I have no idea what it’s worth. Should have some extra value over a standard model 60 but no one seems to have any guess to how much more. I bought it for the cool factor more than a collector’s item. All I know is there should be 499 more of these somewhere.

Nice! It’s neat to have something rare like that! That M-60 certainly will bring a bit of a premium if it’s in good shape when you decide to sell it.

About the only thing I ever had that was rare or really different was a two-tone silver and black Sig P226 that Robar did in Np3 back in 1992.

My co workers used to call it my “pimp gun” because two tone duty guns were really rare. Now they’re very common so it’s not as “Pimpy” anymore (I traded it away years ago anyway)...

Again, neat find!

Stay safe!

I had one of those about that time, 89 or 90. I let someone talk me out of it. Another one that got away. It had the unfluted cylinder and smooth grips, but mine was some type of dealer special run, like Davidson's or Talo, etc.

Interesting find! Never saw one before but it certainly does have a unique look about it. I seem to recall seeing a limited edition Model 36 from the factory which had a blued frame and a bright nickel cylinder and barrel.
