It's been like 5 minutes since somebody has posted one of these threads so I though I would add another one.
My first impressions of the gun are.
1. the gun is super tight. It is about as tight as the Wilson was when I first bought it.
2. the trigger is rough. Very gritty. and pretty heavy. I will probably go ahead and get a trigger job on it next week.
3. I am still scared of the hammer bit. I am going to shoot it before I have any mods on it. Hopefully I don't have a problem but I have a feeling I am going to have my hand tenderized.

I have yet to take it apart to clean it but from outside appearances it seems like a well made pistol. I also bought the grips from CDNN and they are a big improvement over the plastics that came on it.
I will post a range reprt later this week.

Here is a pic of the FN with it's cousin.

Very nice pics! It's nice that somebody took the plunge and ordered the CDNN grips for the HP. They look very nice! How do they feel?

thanks,
before I put them on a did not know if I was going to like them becasue they are thicker than the factory grips. I like thin grips. After I got them on I do like them better than the originals. These are more contoured to the hand. They are not just flat like the factory grips. I would prefer if they were a little thinner but I can't complain for $30. They are very nice looking and pretty comfortable.

yep, I need to get some cocobolo grips for the Wilson now. 1911 and Hi-Power are to me the two nicest looking pistols out there.

I also have always liked the looks of the Beretta 92. Just cant deal with a DA/SA trigger.

Range Report

took out the new hi-power today. I shot 150 rounds of 115gr. CCI Blazer through it. No problems at all. Not even any hammer bite. :p
I did shoot low with the pistol. Not really sure why. I am going to get a trigger job on it next week. Hopefully that will help out.
The guy that does the work on my pistols said that he would have to check with the owner of the shop he works at to see if they will allow him to take out the magazine disconnect. He said if they don't he could still make it into a pretty nice trigger.
