Got out to fire a batch of test loads today despite the low temps and knee deep snow. Springfield XDm 3.8" barrel .40S&W running Winchester Brass, 180gr IDP#5's, TulAmmo small pistol primers and Ramshot True Blue. Used loading data from Ramshot with an OAL of 1.125" http://www.ramshot.com/powders/load.php Ran 20 each 5.1,5.3,5.4,5.5,5.6gr all cycled perfectly. Recoil ranged from powder puff to mild. Examined bore checking for leading between each test batch, no lead issues at all. True blue seems to burn pretty clean, although I noticed a good amount of smoke.(probably the lead bullets and lube) Best accuracy and POI came from the 5.5 and 5.6gr powder charges.
