Just came in. The police have attributed the Illinois mall shootings as a "botched robbery". Apparently, this is eerily similar to the Wendy's massacre of 5 employees a few years ago in NYC. Also a botched robbery committed by some people with seriously disturbed minds.
Not to mention another "gun-free zone".
Maybe this can't be true. I mean, after all, guns are banned in Chicago aren't they?

So, why is gun control been missing from the mouths of the 2008 presidential candidates so far? Is that a good thing for us, or something else?
Why are they trying to avoid the subject now. Also, anybody who has read the January issue of American Rifleman would know that at the same time Bill Clinton has been stressing "gun control", he had just paroled 16 extremely dangerous federal prisoners, ranging from international drug charges to murder and child rape and kiddie pornography. Anybody heard about this?

Yup. get elected THEN tell the subjects that they're taking all the guns.
I hope we won't be caught off guard like we did in the 1960s, when all kinds of liberal left wing socialists came flying and screeching and clawing onto the dying corpse of American freedom and started to tear apart it's still quivering flesh with their putrid teeth and feces-covered talons.:fire::fire::fire:

I hope the NRA is aware that predators may be lurking around the corner.......again.

The Dems saw what gun control did to Al Gore and are laying low, but be assured if they get into office they will sign any kind of gun ban that makes it to their desk.

What guns officer? They were lost in a terrible boating accident!

Bad luck I suppose.

The point of emphasizing the "Gun Free Zone" isn't to say that shootings don't happen elsewhere, but to point out the such laws have little/no effect on actual crime.

all this talk about politics makes me wanna grab some cosmoline and think about long term storage.
When it's time to bury the guns it's really time to dig them up.

Why is the usual gun ban rhetoric absent in light of the recent mass shootings and the upcoming election? It seems that they have settled on another means of guncontrol with which they have had some success with in the past. Remember Nyclads? How about Black Talons? I think they are concentrating their efforts at the state level, i.e. recent legislation in many states trying to ban lead bullets and it seems they have formed a new alliance in their quest, the Enviornmentalists. Now, I have heard of proposed regulations by the EPA on storing primers and powder and the manufacture of these that would severly limit these companies ability to stay in business. If the Supreme Court rules in our favor it will throw a wrench in their arguments for guncontrol, so what are they to do? If they can't ban guns, they can take away the ammo without which guns are useless.

The very fact that the Brady Bunch and similar organizations are not screaming at the top of their lungs tells me something. Oh, they will say something, but not the noise they have in the past.

To me, this tells me that they believe "good" things will come if they just bide their time until Jan 21,2009.

It is not missing, you simply have to dig to get it. Obama is in favor of a national law prohibiting CCW. Hillary wants to license all gun owners and issue ID cards.

it is not an issue

the big 2 Democrat and big 2 republican candidates are essentially on the same anti-gun page.

look at their records, not their claims. they are all anti gun

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to it. The good thing is this: I'm 21 before the election, and so I doubt they'll be able to pass anything to make illegal what is legal currently

I think this is turning into a bit of paranoia... It's not the federal anti gunners we should be worried about... Its the state anti gunners. They have more power. Just look at how many states dont allow ccws, that aint a federal matter.

Congress is already working on this. Look at S.2237, "Crime Control and Prevention Act of 2007" from Sen. Biden, especially Title VI:

And S.2577, "Gun Show Background Check Act of 2008" from sen Lautenberg:

Two of our favorite ( :barf: ) senators.

I'm waiting to see how I react to Heller..
I agree. I'm not sure if Dems have learned their lesson or are lying low until they are in power. Time will tell. Considering the several high profile mass murders as of late they have been pretty quiet. They could be biting their tongue, but lets be real here. When have the liberals or progressives held their tongue?
