every gunsafe i've seen stores guns vertically.
in my antique katana collecting days, i was warned to store them horizontally so the oils (choji) wouldn't slowly collect at one end and stain the metal.
I've also heard people say it's better to store rifles muzzle down, so that any cleaning solution or oil that might still be in the barrel doesn't slowly seep out and collect in the action.
so... the obvious question is, why don't any of the gun safes facilitate horizontal or muzzle-down storage?
does anyone here who has a large safe store their rifles horizontally? did you modify the interior yourself or did it come that way?
