Photographer Shot at Britney Spears' Home...
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20050807/D8BQPQLO0.html

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) - A photographer was shot in the leg with a pellet gun outside Britney Spears' home Saturday evening, authorities said.

It was unclear who fired the plastic pellet as the photographer was staking out an event at the pop singer's Malibu home, Sheriff's Department Lt. Steve Smith said. He said firefighters bandaged the man's leg and he went to a hospital.

"It could've been somebody driving by, walking by, we have no idea where it came from," Smith said.

The photographer, identified as Brad Diaz, was about 200 yards from the home and outside Spears' long driveway when he was hit, Smith said.

A message left with Spears' publicist was not immediately returned Saturday night.

One hell of a bb gun to not only hit something at 200 yards but hit hard enough to require a hospital visit - especially a PLASTIC pellet :scrutiny: ....

Hmmmm, publicity stunt?

A lady of many talents! Maybe we should invite her out shooting? Something in full auto?

An idea for a new thread: what caliber for zombie celebrity harrassing photographers?

That's what I was thinking...aren't plastic pellets just Airsoft projectiles? Why would you need a bandage after being hit with one of those?

What a wuss :neener: I don't know of any airsoft gun that'll leave injuries that require hospitalization unless you were hit right in the eyeball.

A regular pellet/bb gun I can see...but I can't think of any type of pneumatic gun that shoots plastic bb's that requires bandages and a trip to the hospital unless the guy was freaking out about a red welt and maybe...just maybe broke skin if the shooter was a foot away. I vote wuss.

can you spell LAWSUIT?

I sometimes think that these papparazi guys are so annoying because they are hoping that some celeb will assault them and then they can cash in.

justice rears its beautiful head

Nice to see journalists harrassing people is no longer a safe passtime

A PLASTIC pellet?

Two things:

It didn't travel 200 yards.

That's a seriously whiney cameraman.

Actually, later hospital reports state that the pellet penetrated so far into his leg that the doctors decided they would do more damage trying to extract it and left it in.

Initial reports said that it was a plastic pellet. Methinks that in light of the blood, it was a real .177 pellet.

Maybe a neighbor kid got sick of the jackals and decided to take a little revenge?

WHAAAAT?

Something's really not right here.

It'd have to be Airsoft if it were a plastic pellet.

It is entirely possible it was a good air gun, I would think that some of the better pellet guns have the ability to penetrate at 200 yards.

"I was told by people at the scene that police officers talking to Britney's bodyguards were sort of standing around laughing at it."
They HAD to be in on it! How else would someone find humor in a situation like this? The man got shot with an airsoft gun! He even needed a band-aid from the responding LEOs to cover the wound!

Since this wussy seems to think that her personal security staff is armed with airsoft guns, there may be (more?) attempts to break ito her property in the future. Ms Spears could possibly counter-sue the wuss since his public suspicion of her securty staff made her home more of a target than before.

Oh, if her staff justifiably kills an armed suspect trying to break in, the BG's family could possibly sue him as well, since he led them to think the firearms they were carrying were just airsoft guns...

Or, maybe I just need sleep since my mind is working in ways that it doesnt usually do, in other words, thinkg way too much about something that really nothing.

With a plastic pellet, it's pretty unlikely. There are some possibilities for making this happen, but they're all a bit far out.

I've got to say that this is starting to sound a little fishy to me.
