another pawn shop find

well just back from the pawn shop where i picked up my first 10/22.. its in decent shape with some speckling of rust starting on the barrel. the stock is decent. ive been looking for the past month or so for a deal on one with the cheapest i have found being 175+tax. well this one was priced at 175, and they ended up taking 125..i will get some pics up here shortly.

Good deal...

Clean it up, buy small boxes of as many different brands of ammo that you can find, and blaze away untill you find what works best in YOUR rifle.

That is part of the charm of .22Rimfire guns...finding what works best for you..

well the bug got me again today. i found a nice 10/22 today serial 111-xxxx . if im reading the ruger date id thing right its a 72 or 73 model right? i noticed a the different mag release, and is sling ready. im not sure of the wood its a shinier wood and has the pattern in the stock... i just put it in layaway for now so i cant grab any pics, but im sure i will be back there quick to go ahead and bring it home.. is it pretty common to want many of the same gun like this?

you are normal in wanting more. It seems that every time I buy a new gun I find a reason to buy a duplicate. The most recent example was when I bought my taurus pt1911. Then a month later they come out with a $75 rebate. I almost bought another just because I liked the price. The wife said no.

you can find some good deals at pawnshops if you willing to keep looking & deal with the morons who usually work there. we have around 5 or 6 really good pawnshops in my area that deal in al ot of guns & are generaly much better than the chain type of stores.
in the last couple of moths i've found a pre-64 win 70 in 270 with a uncut stock for $500 & my brother found a german g33/40 for $250 & a pre-64 win 70 featherwieght 243 for $370.
the pawnshop that i got the win70 from is also a class 3 dealer
