Stopped by the big gun store today to browse and say hello to a friend and I spied a mint S&W Model 19 2 1/2" barrel for $325. She is sweet for sure, smooth trigger and a very clean bore. She just needs to be cleaned and shined up some. Now I need to find me a Model 65! Tell me what you think!

Well, if I spotted it and it checked out OK, it would come home with me. Congrats!

Kind of funny how last week I really wanted a Colt Python and  there it was. Then I start thinking about 2 1/2 Model 19 and  there it is. Funny how things work out sometimes.:D

Congrats.. Very nice looking gun.

I picked one up about a month ago and really do like it.

Congrats on the find. I owned one for several years, and sincerely regret having to sell it off due to a change in finances. They are excellent revolvers, and tame down .357 Magnums considerably compared to J Frames.

Assuming the timing's good and the revolver is mechanically sound, you got a good deal too. Gotta warn you though, now that you've got a 2 1/2" version, you're going to want a 4" too. Trust me on this.

I can't wait to shoot some mild .357 loads through it. I gotta get to the range this week. I am hoping one of these days it gets to 20 degrees!!

Yes, grips came with it and that is one of the reasons I bought it. They are in fantastic shape just like the rest of the gun.

treebeard.....

Man, I don't like being the bearer of bad news.....but, that is one terrible shooter, ugly, and will NOT hold up under usual use!
In fact, I probably would be VERY afraid to shoot it..... SO, that being said, and me being the nice, honest :)o ) person I am, I'll do the right thing and take it off your hands.......:D :D :D :D

Honestly......the 19 is one of the sweeeetest! Enjoy

Excellent deal!
Love the grips!
I have an older P&R 19-3 2.5" that I am waiting on some combat grips for.
I hope they look that good.
You really stole that piece!

Well if you want to spend some more money, Last time I checked with CDNN they had a bunch of 3 and 4 inch model 65's.

Very nice looking 19.

I am finally going to get to shoot it tomorrow. I think it is actually supposed to get to the mid 20's. I will post my results.

Well I got the chance to shoot it today and the trigger is smooth. I got a great deal for sure. The only issue I had was that some bobo fudged the sights up bad.....I mean bad. My buddy and I started shooting it and all of our shots were almost off the target. I adjusted the sights accordingly and then we were both almost dead center with .38Spl
+P ammo and my 125gr. Hdy loads. Accuracy was superb with both loads. I can't wait to shoot it some more. We have a heat wave coming Monday, it is supposed to get above 28 degrees. :D

YES!!! The 65's--Then another 14, and a 19--and a Model 57 just because. Oh I have to go pet on my light hunter it's feeling left out.;) If you ever want to me a female gun nut up, ask her what she wants to shoot today. My husband did that to me months ago and I still haven't made up my mind yet.:fire:
