Another "shop" story

Heard another one long ago.

Guy was shooting his 7 Mag Weatherby IIRC. Recoil was brutal. After a couple of rounds he figured out that we was using .300 Mag ammo.

Dunno how much pressure it takes to push a .284 bullet down a .30 barrel, but I suspect it's substantial
Got your numbers reversed. No problem with a .284 down a .30 barrel, but the other way gives you pause.

My brother, rest his soul, a long time ago fired a 41 mag out of our dad's Winchester 94 44 mag.
I mistakenly took the .44 Redhawk to the range one day when I meant to bring the .41. It took one shot to figure out what I did. Sounded wrong, and even though I was shooting at 100 yards, it was obvious it didn't hit close to where it should have.

Here we go again with dumb mistakes; Steyr Scout rifle, .308 of course. Dummy doesn't read the ammo box carefully and selects 6.5 Creedmoor. I'll skip to the good news, shooter: alive, Steyr: operational. Ego: trashed. Target: unharmed.

That's someone who should not be allowed to shoot without adult supervision.
