First of all thank you all for all your feedback about my last questions about the sigs. My next question is that i've seen that you can swap the .357SIG and .40S&W barrels in the P226 so that you can fire either round from them, and i was wondering if you had a P226 chambered for .357SIG can you swap it for a 9mm P226 barrel? THanks again.

Not factory barrels--only the .40 and 357SIG barrels (and magazines, by the way) are interchangeable. BAchman Pawn out in Dallas offers a good price on these (they run ads in SGN all the time)

But see what Bar-Sto offers:

Never tried it myself---YMMV. You'd need 9mm mags, I'd imagine.

.40 and .357 barrels swap without problem.
To shoot 9mm in a .40/357 pistol, you need an aftermarket CONVERSION barrel.
From what I've read on Sigforum (http://www.sigforum.com/), the 9mm conversions will work with just a barrel swap. Others use the 9mm recoil spring and 9mm magazines for best results. Also the extractor is not perfect for the 9mm, so the 9mm conversion is just for range practice, not something you would stake your life on.

P.S.
Unless this is for carry, get the stainless version, they're only about $50-75 more. You'll be glad you did.

It seems that they do...

...sell 9mm barrels if you buy the .40S&W or .357Sig models.

Apparently, they're the tactical 9mm barrels (threaded for silencer attachment) - but they only sell for about $60 more than the .40 or .357 barrels. Here is a place you can check them out.

FWIW, I'm almost positive now that when I buy my P226, I'll buy in .357Sig, and get this barrel instead of the other way around. I like the idea of being able to attach a silencer to one of my HD/SD weapons. Don't ask me why. :D

You will need 9mm mags also, from what I can tell. My Sig Pro (.40S&W/.357Sig) mags don't hold 9mm well, and I wouldn't try it anyways.

Sig p226 elite 9mm

Can the 9mm be converted to 357? I am heading down to pick my new gun up tonight. But I thought that I could convert it to 40 or 357?

only the .40/.357sig barrels from sig. but there are aftermarket 9mm barrels. i looked at bar-sto awile back altough i have not bought it yet.
