Anti Idiot scratch Slide Stop [PIC]

Why don't they sell slide stops with a notch in them already? It does not affect function at all and you don't have to worry about the scratch!...

Anyhow, i didn't have a small file on hand so i used a Dremmel... i cleaned it up a bit after this photo and buffed it pretty well.. now you just push it in, no swivel necessary, no pushing the ball end to depress the spring... it just pushes straight in and firmly CLICK's into place.

Here is a pic... oh, and some stupid fancy grip screws got installed as well

Maybe you should send the pics to Springfield, Kimber etc.

Maybe they'll start doing it at the factory. Which would result in an additional cost no doubt. :banghead:

Kimber? Naw...Have disassembled/assembled my Kimber UCC II many times and no "idiot scratch". Kimber must have solved the "problem"...Now my Colt 1911 is a different story.

I've never put an idiot scratch on a 1911 and frankly, I don't know how someone would go about doing it, especially the ones that start inside the trigger and make a 180 degree arc! Maybe I've just never had one that has hard to put back in.

I like the idea, definitely a good idea for a pistol with a nice finish. For plain old finishes like parkerizing I'll keep it honest. I have a scratch that goes all the way down the finger relief behind my trigger. I know you're all so jealous

I really think that some manufacturers slide stops are sharper than others, I scratched the #%^^$&*&*( out of my dads stainless springfield V10 back in the day when i reassembled once. and a friend of mine has a wilson combat thats got the "full circle". And my old kimber with 11 years of abuse barly has a mark.
