I have the CH4D 4 station press, it is a good press for someone starting out. Did not like the powder measure that well so tried several different set ups. The most accurate was the Dillon powder die and funnel, with their adapter used a Redding 10X powder measure with the handle moved to the left side. If you want it to be more automatic with the powder drop the Lee Pro Auto Disk works great using the Lee powder through the expander die.
As for operation I step 1 round through each station until I have a completed cartridge. You could also do your reloading in batch style if you like. loading pistol ammo you should get around 125 rounds per hour without much trouble.
It Is nice to have the time when moving the case from station to station to do a little QC. And easy to see how much powder is in the case. The press has a good feel to it and is easy to get a good rhythm going while reloading.
The current turret presses are all well made and I do not see any problems with them to worry about. I have A Redding T7 but it is a little slower than the CH 444. Also have the Lee Classic Cast Turret press and for the money it is hard to beat. It will crank out rounds faster than the other two for me around 150 rounds per hour and others are getting around 200. All these presses will work well for you pick the one you like best, after all your the one who has to pull the handle.
