Any experience with EAA Bounty Hunter?

Anyone out there have a recent bought Bounty Hunter SA in .357 or .45lc? They're made in Germany, but reviews are limited or non-existent. Photos and prices look good, but you never know until you actually have it in your hand and fire it... Anyone have one of these? Opinion? Thanks, Joe:

I know some people that have them for Cowboy Shooting and I have had one before. The one I had would slide past the cocking notch resulting in premature firing. A smith took it apart and told me that the safety device was blocking the hammer from engaging the cocking notch (how ironic).
Anyway, I got rid of mine, but they seem to be built strong enough and they work well most of the time. You get what you pay for. You can do better, (Ruger, Colt, Uberti) but you can also do a lot worse (RG, Arminius, ASM).

I got one. Shoots fine. No problems yet! Its a long story, but it wasn't my choice to get it......it was a replacement for a Cimarron that a "so called gunsmith" who I won't name (you're safe Bill Oglesby) screwed up. . It didn't have the class of the 7.5 in cavalry model I had, so I gave it some class! I bought and installed a Colt bullseye ejector and rod which screw together as opposed to the crescent head one that was welded/brazed. (I hear tell those sometimes snap off.) I then put on one piece faux ivory grips that I put together from a kit from Gripmaker.

NOW it looks the way it should!

I forgot

It's .45LC. I haven't slugged it but my .454 loads won't chamber until I run the through the sizer a second time. I've shot smokeless and BP with no problem.

I haven't tried the .45 or .357, but I briefly owned a .22/.22 magnum. After about 200 rounds the cylinder bolt broke. I took it back to the shop where I bought it, and the gunsmith tried to order a new bolt. EAA wouldn't ship it. They wanted it shipped to them UPS next day air. If I recall correctly, that was going to run $45.00. Remember, this was to return a $200 gun for warranty repair. The store agreed to pay half the shipping, and I traded that thing off at a different shop as soon as I got it back.

I've heard the .22 versions are more sucky. I have the .45lc version, purchased ANIB in late 2003 for $125, couldn't pass it up.

It's been great and trouble free.
