Greetings all. I am well enough versed in handguns, but, shotguns are out of my comfort zone, so, any help would be appreciated.

I just traded for an Ithaca Hammerless double barrel 12 gauge thats been cut to 19" as a coach gun. It has a lovely "patina" (that would be gun seller talk for it has very little of the blue stuff on it that originally came on it) I say its been cut, but, I assume there is the smallest chance it came this way from the factory, but, its been this way for a very long time. I can't find any good info on the web, maybe I don't know what I am looking for, so, if there any Ithaca double guys around, feel free to hop in.

Serial number is 14363X. Marked on the inside of the frame (where the barrels rest) the forened and the barrel block. Also on the frame opposite the serial number is: a 1 over a 1 2.

On the side of the gun is simply: "Ithaca Hammerless" in a flowing banner, both sides. Simple engraving on the breech end of the barrels.

Under the barrels on the block: Left barrel: 4/4 and the serial number.
Right barrel: 2/4

Ahead of the 2/4 on the actual barrel: (Maybe) what looks like AC in a semicircle with maybe an anchor looking figure. (?)

I'm virtually certain it is not Damascus, there are no markings on the outside of the barrel at all, no gauge marking, no 2 1/2 or 2 3/4. No "Proof Steel" smokless powder, nothing.

What have I got, how old is it? Again, any help would be greatly appreciated. If Pictures would help, ask and I will take pictures of an specific areas you need.

old model ithaca i would not shoot modern ammo in it .blackpowder shells would be ok .its a field model
think they called it a flues model . barrels were cut . the 2/2 and 4/4 were the chokes 4/4 being full choked.made before 1926.thatis when the nid model came out that replaced it.
