I've taken the advice some have given me and have opened myself up to the notion of a dependable workhorse that isn't terribly expensive. I read where the Taurus 24/7 was given the NRA's "Handgun of the Year" award, and thought I might check it out. I called my local gunshop and they said they had them (in .45 ACP) new for $330...alot less than what they're asking for the XD. Anybody own one or have any knowledge with/experience of them?
Any info. on the Taurus 24/7 in .45 ACP?

Not a bad pistol for the money. Do a quick search here on the 24/7 and you should get plenty of hits.
I did a range report when I purchased one last year. Was nice, did the job but I sold it for another purchase. I'd rather have a .45 in 1911 so I had no need for a DAO in .45.
