Hello All,

I've got a bunch of surplus ammunition, berdan primed. Wanting to pull the bullets and powder as I've got more time than money--I can reused these, but the case and primer are going to the scrap pile unless anyone can use them.

Any interest? 7.62x54r and 7.62x39.

Berdan Primed Brass

If you have more time than money dont scrap the brass. They are reloadable.
I have a drill press with a machinist vise a cheap one I purchased from harbor freight.
I clamp the cases one at a time verticlal in the vice which has a "vee" slot that makes them plumb and I just tighen the vise lightly.
using a drill smaller than the primer. I drill the fired primer just until is cuts through the primer at a low rpm speed. It catches the primer or the drill sticks and the primer is spun out of the case. A flat screwdriver small can be used to brake out any post that was under the primer. You will see two small flash holes. Most berdan primed cases will fit modern primers. You have to drill them out each time you reload the cases.
I do this for one firing on Blazer aluminum cases for one reload only all the time. Be safe

they should be reloadable with mere neck sizing for the first firing. corrosive primers i'd imaging though

Seems to me it might be more valuable as ammo than as parts. See if you can sell the rounds, then use the money to buy bullets and powder.
