I just got to thinking, aside from the Thompson Encore line, does anyone know of any 'modern' looking black powder pistols?

i know they make plenty of modern looking black powder rifles, but why not pistols?

i think it would be kind of sharp to see something like a muzzle loader built on a 1911 frame or ruger MK2 frame.

the Ruger Old Army, with adjustable sights, in stainless looks pretty modern to me. My brother has [IIRC] Pachmeyers grips on his, and all it's missing is a lazer, to make it look like Buck Roger's personal sidearm...

That second one down, seen that before that is very cool and VERY simple, I REALLY want to build one like it....and a long gun as well.

those are all actually really quite interesting..

now were those all custom made are are any of them production?

M-Cameron they are, except the electric pistol, all production guns. most are out of production, and were very limited numbers made of some. I understand that the top one, a Yazel, is one of only 12 made. The bottom one is a Traditions Buck hunter pistol with a home made replacement butt stock

I also have a 50 cal TC scout pistol. The semi auto looking perc and flint pistols were made by Rob Lewis. I know of several others made by Lewis, maybe at least a few dozen to a hundred made.

Can you tell me a little more about the grey and silwer one(3rd last pic)?
It looks precisely as my old Palmetto(inline .50cal), can I trade you a Springbok or warthog for it??? Say yes please:):)
