I have heard and read of her career and exploits but have seen very little specific info about the guns she used or where they are now.

Anyone have anything?

Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing/ Galazan had an H&R (IIRC) single shot shotgun for sale a few years ago that belonged to her.

There are several guns in the museum in Cody Wyoming that were part of the Oakley/Butler show in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show, and some firearms that were used by other members of the same traveling extravaganza. All are properly documented and authenticated.

I see the museum is seeking a director. Might be a cool job but It would be a big cut in pay for me and the wife will NOT live in Ohio... again. Bad memories

She used a Marlin lever action .22 for a lot of her trick shooting. That was mentioned on History Channel/Tales of the Gun if I recall correctly.

I saw a photo a little while back of a S&W #3 of hers. I believe it was from Cody collection. She was such a prolific user of various guns that there are many, many guns that can be attributed to her. Much like what could be said for many of us in another 100 years...;)

I remember reading how terrible her shotgun shooting was until she went to England and got properly fitted for one.

Some of her guns were on display at the ATA hall of fame in Vandalia, Ohio. I suppose they were moved to Sparta, Illinois when the ATA moved it's headquarters there.

As I recall she had a custom '94 Win that shot .410 shotshells for some of her "trick" shooting.

Where can I read about that?
I don't remember, might've been The Double Gun Journal. If I remember right, she started out with a full-sized American double, which are usually overly large and overweight anyway. Once she got fitted for a much more svelte English double (forget the maker) it made vast improvements in her "wingshooting". Seems like the main focus of the article was the importance of fitment.
