I was looking through one of those Buyer's Guides again, spending money in my head, when I noticed there are a few autoloaders that I haven't heard much about.
Do any of you own or otherwise have any opinions on the following?

ARCUS 94/98. 9mm $312.

DAEWOO DH40
.40 $369

FELK MINIES UC
9mm .40 .45ACP $364

IMI SP-21 9mm .40 .45ACP $499

KORTH 9mm 9x21mm .40 .45ACP $6800-12000

WILDEY
.44 Auto Mag .45 Wildey Mag .45 Win Mag .475 Wildey Mag $1525-2950

I have worked out where these guns originate from and as you see above what calibers and recommended costs.
What I am interested in is how well they perform and possibly real world prices. Although for the Korth I am sure the price is the price.
Thanks.

Korth is HIGH dollar, supposedly the best in the world - I doubt it.
The Wildey had a starring role in Death Wish 5, I think it was, gas adjustable semi auto in a big caliber.
Arcus is a budget brand, so so stuff, adequate for beginniner, some really like them.
Daewoo is an unrecognized star, made great rifles, pistols are quite good, has the unique "TriFire" systems, where you can cock for single action, then push the hammer forward, so you have hammer down, trigger forward, single action. I have fired one - was quite accurate.
The other two I really don't know much about, but IMI imports a lot of thier lisde and frames from Tanfoglio of Italy, another good company.

I have an Arcus 94, and I just love it. I got my for $239 though. At over $300 they are getting awfully close to the FN made ones from CDNN. Mine is pretty accurate, and has never skipped a beat. With the magazine disconnect removed, the trigger is pretty good too.

FELK MINIES UC 9mm .40 .45ACP $364 TOO MUCH FOR IT

IMI SP-21 9mm .40 .45ACP $499 TOO UGLY

KORTH 9mm 9x21mm .40 .45ACP $6800-12000 YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING

"ARCUS 94/98. 9mm $312. SUCKS"

I thought I heard these were supposed to be decent. What makes them suck? How would you rank them against the Hungarian BHP clone ( I forgot the name).

I've only heard good things about the Arcus series...my only beef is their aesthetic changes to the Hi-Power...just not my thing. Don't get me wrong, it looks damn cool, but it's just not the real thing. I'd still buy one though, especially for that price.

The Arcus CAN suck... it just depends, I guess. They're a BHP clone, just without all of the good looks.

A friend had one that he TOTALLY neglected to take care of, and it ended up with very chewed up slide and barrel lugs. It could probably have been fixed, but it would probably cost more than a new one.

The Hungarian FEG? I wasn't incredibly impressed with mine... It was a good gun, but the metallurgy was NOT up to par. At some point I started to notice the slide peening the frame. When I got to 6,000 rounds (all standard pressure, BTW), it was getting the the point where everyone, not just obsessives like me, would be able to notice something going on. I did solve the problem with an extra power recoil spring and a heavier mainspring.

Do a search on my name and FEG -- you'll find plenty on it. I sold the gun last year at a gun show and got a 1911. I can't explain why, but I miss the gun. I have a FM-Argentine HP now, which is built much better and has better metal, but I guess I miss the FEG because of all of the time I put into it.

Of the 4 Hi Powers that i've owned -- the Browning, the FN, the FM-Argie (all 3 I still own), and the FEG -- I have had 0 problems with the Browning and the FN. The FM cracked a firing pin retaining plate, but that's not uncommon.

If I were looking at budget 9mms, I'd look pretty hard at the FM M95s that are in the Shotgun News. You can get them for less than $300.

The IMI SP-21 has gotten good reviews, from what I've read, but some folks don't like its looks. I don't think it looks too bad.

Gun Tests once got hold of a Korth auto. They said it was beautifully fit and finished but was not functionally reliable. Nothing close to the famous Korth revolvers.

I think overall percentage wise the Arcus 9mm's would score just as high marks as many name brand guns. Always heard great things about them and I believe they are the standard issue sidearm for the Bulgarian military. Some might laugh but I bet even the Bulgarian military makes sure they meet a decent standard.

I have an Arcus that has over 4000 rounds through it.

It has never had a single drop of oil or grease applied to it. I have only used RD-50 dry lube on it and It has never malfunctioned in any way. I think it's a fantastic gun for the price!

I also have a Wilson BHP and a FEG.

The FEG's barrel lug broke off at around 1500 rounds and it is of course, not worth repairing.

The BHP is more accurate at longer ranges and looks prettier than the Arcus, but the Arcus is every bit as reliable and accurate at normal combat distance and at a fraction of the cost of my Wilson BHP.

ARCUS 94/98. 9mm $312. SUCKS

I also own an Arcus 94 and an FN-marked Hi-Power. After who knows how many rounds of reliable and accurate shooting, I fail to see how the Arcus sucks. Maybe you can enlighten us.

. . . Oh, wait, you must have meant paying $312 for an Arcus sucks. Maybe, but slap "Springfield Armory" on the Arcus and people would call it the second coming of Dieudonne Saive.

DH-40

The Daewoo DH40 is a great shooter. I have had one for 12 years and have never found an ammo that doesn't cycle. Never a misfire/stovepipe etc.
It's around for the $250.00 price range. The magazines can be expensive. It may be just mine, but I doubt it. Daewoo made some great guns. I wouldn't sell mine for $1000.00, complete confidence in it.

One thing about Daewoo, you can be assured that the company will never fold and leave you out of luck on support.

They're a Korean megacorp that makes everything from consumer electronics and chips to city-sized supertankers and cargo transports.

So you can readily get spare parts - in the USA! - for the nice pre-AWB Daewoo autoloading rifles now?

The one Korth handgun I had a chance to examine seemed very nicely made indeed . . . it's been a few years, but I remember thinking at the time that the high apparent level of workmanship justified a price tag of pretty close to 25% of MSRP.

The Wildey pistols I've seen reminded me a lot of the Para-Ordnance pistols I looked at 10 or 12 years ago; huge variations in the workmanship.

Arcus pistols . . . I'd say they're worth the ~$300 selling price.

Not familiar with the FELK MINIES UC or that specific IMI pistol . . .

So I do a Google search on "KORTH 9mm" and the first result listed is:

Arcus 94

I own an Arcus 94. I have fired more then 1000 rounds and can say I have NEVER had any problems with it what so ever. Maybe I just got a good one. I even carry it as my concealed carry. I paid $275.00 and I have to say, I would buy another one if I had the chance.

Are we talking about the company that makes cars, DVD players, etc? They made/make firearms?

If you can consider a Korth, spend 1/3 that much and find a SIG P210 if you want an outright rare firearm that is considered one of the most/the most accurate production pistols in the world.

Arcus 98 DA

I own an The full size Arcus 98 DA. It is built like a tank and well worth $330. It is a High Power clone and is used by the Bulgarian Army and Iraqi police. It weighs over 2 pounds empty. It is very accurate.

Really? I worked with the Iraqi police in 05 and they all had Glock 19s except for one of the Lieutenants, who had some sort of high power clone. If the Arcus is the same as his, I would buy one for 330 bucks no problem. It was a nice pistol

I always tried to trade him something for the pistol. He never would though.
