Any original Whitney Wolverine experts here? Some questions....

from what i have read the new wolverine magazine does not even work with the new gun.

While the actual pressures of the new "hot" ammo are no higher than the old (they get supervelocity by using a light bullet), I would stick with the old fashioned type ammo in any autoloader made before 1970 or so, and that includes repros of those guns.

The Whitney was invented before the invention of todays hyper-velocity ammo, so it may NOT work with it reliably, but it won't damage it.

Due to the rarity and value of an original Whitney, it's best be safe and stick with standard types of .22 ammo, which is what it was designed for.
