This probably won't get much traffic, but anyone have a scoped Czech VZ-24 they can share a story about how they got it that way?

That said, if there aren't I'm sure they're some Mauser K98 owners who've done the scout scope thing but as I understand it the rear sight mounts are different. If there's a K98 version that had identical rear sight mounts, I'm all ears (but not particularly hopeful).

Many years ago I scoped an erzats/mixmaster K98 to be able to shoot in milsurp "sniper"class at a local range. Did a regular D&T w/Redfield mounts and an old Weaver scope. No magic to it. Hell of a lot more fun to shoot too.

There are also the mounts that replace the rear sight and require use of a handgun scope. I've used them on other milsurps and they work well too.

Thanks, shootr. Yes, I'm looking for info on the ones you mentioned for the rear sight mounts.

I'm hoping to learn if the VZ-24 had identical rear sights to any particular Mausers or other Czech rifles. I know of one specialized maker of such mounts specially for VZ-24's, but didn't know if maybe some other rifle had the exact same rear sights (and so maybe find a cheaper mount).

What in the world is a TURKISH vz-24? I'm guessing these guys don't know if this mount will fit a vz-24 or not, but likely heard they're the same as a K98, which I don't for sure since there have been so many.

If you can help clear this up I'd be much obliged. I have yet to have anyone who knows their way around these various Mauser models and rear sight scope mount actually line ourt which if any are identical to the VZ-24 and which mounts really work with it.

vz 24's are not identical to other mausers, the site's housing is different, and perhaps more importantly there's wood behind it. S&K makes one, i know because I am searching for the same thing you are. they aren't cheap though. you can get them directly from S&K or from the place linked below. they call them CZ24's because they are czech (sp?). S&K gets very good comments on these forums. hope this helps.
