In trying to figure out if Czech VZ-24's share rear sights with other Mausers, I thought I'd make sure we're comparing apples with apples. What do K98 Mauser rear sights look like?

The rear sights on the VZ-24 have a long travel, enough to cover the 18 possible settings for 300m at the lowest to 2000m at the top.

Any insight on the characteristics of the VZ-24 rear sight as it relates to any other Mauser would be greatly appreciated as well!

If you want the Mauser Karabiner 98 Kurz (8mm, WWII, Nazi), here is what mine looks like. If you can't see the picture, its pretty much ramped on a very small angle and numbered 1-20 with an adjuster. The actual "iron sight" itself is a cut-away U shape with a thin piece of stell with a very small V. These rifles were meant for soliders with keen eyes, haha.

The rear sights are a different design on the K98 and the VZ24. They will not interchange.

Thank you, Doug! I have been trying to get that piece of information for a long time.

It's looking like I'll get an S&K mount and a long eye relief scope. Cheers!
