Any STAR fans here?

STAR autos appear to be well made...especially those from the 1940s-70s. Are there any fans of the B, BS and B Supers here? If so, relate any and all of your experiences with the various models. TIA

I have a Star DK .380 that occasionally sees some street time. Star and Astra are often underrated firearms.

I have have their famous B series but my 30MI is a very quality build. I like it more so than my CZ75.

I have a Star Model Super B, a Star BM, a Star PD, a Firestar, and an Astra Model 75, and an Astra Model 400.

They have all been quite reliable. The B Super was built in 1947, and the Model 400 in the 1930s.

Spanish pistols from Star, Llama, and Astra suffered greatly from government interference over the years. Spain has zero pistol manufacturers today, because of their heavy-handed antics.

i have a M-43 firestar.back in the spring my stepson traded me a s&w model 4506-1 for it.i kicked my self for about three months,then finaly talked him into tradeing me my firestar back.it will NEVER leave me again!!!

Oh yeah. Some great, somewhat heavy, but neat pistols.

The Model B, and an old Firestar in .40 S&W are a couple of my favorites. Got rid of nice old PD that I shoulda kept ...

They're all pretty worthy pistols. Don't ever let anyone tell you that Stars are junk guns.

I don't have a B series but I do have a model 1921 in 9 Largo. Its the predecessor to the model A series and is the only 1911 style pistol they made with a grip safety and for one year only.

I also have a model 1914 in .32 caliber. The French bought all 20,000 of these from Star for their army in WW1.

While not Spanish I looked over Argentinian #95158 DGFM FMAP Sistema Colt 11,25mm. For under $500 much better firearm then inexpensive new Philipine cluners. Excellent firearm and proly the only Argentinian handgun worth owing.

I had a Star PD in .45 ACP that was my occasional carry gun back in the 1980's. It functioned perfectly with 230 grain FMJ ammo.

Years ago I had a Star Model B that was a great shooter. Well made guns that were every bit as good as a comparable M1911, it was also a nice gun to teach beginning shooters with if they wanted to move up in caliber from a .22LR.

I had a Star Firestar Plus--13 rd dbl column mag with lightweight aluminum frame, probably the best carry gun Star ever made. I needed some money and sold it. Wish I had it back....

I don't categorically love star, and I most certainly wouldn't describe myself as a fan. However, I have a PD that is exceptionally accurate and carry-able- though it likes to be cleaned and well lubricated.

I carried a BKM light weight 9mm for years when I was plain clothes. It was light, thin and reliable. Not to mention inexspensive. I think I paid $100.00 for it. Great little gun. Wish I still had it.
I have a buddy who owns a PD and he absolutely loves it. Great shooter and very accurate.

I've had several different Stars, starting with a Waffenampt-marked German WWII Star B (the marks later turned out to be faked by the importer -- there was a bit of a scandal about that in the C&R community), and a couple of Firestars, in both 9 and .40. I've had 3 or 4 Firestar Pluses -- and they remain my favorite StarL small, light, 13-rounders for compact concealed carry. I've shot the Megastar and Ultrastar, but never owned any.

I liked them all, but never as much as I liked some of my other guns, so they got used only periodically. I'd still pick one up today, if found at a good price, to have for backup or trade fodder. I like DaeWoos, too, maybe better... (I once had a real tack-driving DP-51 that I regret trading away...)

I own 4 Star model BMs (unfortunate designation, that) and 2 PDs.

I have found them all to be comfortable, reliable, well-built and accurate.

I love Stars. I wish they would start producing them again. A BM with a modern alloy frame and sights would be a great carry weapon.

15 years ago I had a little 40sw in Starvel finish that did not extract.
I took it back and threw it at the guy I bought it from.
I had elevated stress that day from herding sheep with a motorcycle on my property while my wife was trying to tell me how to do it.

So the Star pistols in this pic and the wife are all I have left.

I own a number of Star pistols. The Firestar series (9mm,.40S&W,.45acp) a .22 model FM, a 9mm model 30, 2- 9mm model BM, a .45acp model PD and a .380 model S super. I also own a number of Astra pistols. I have found all of them to be well built, accurate and dependable. I carried an Astra model 60 (.380) for about 15 years while working...absolutely rock solid never a problem of any kind. I am always on the lookout for Star pistols to buy. Needless, to say I am a fan of Spanish pistols although, I have never owned a Llama pistol.

Firestar .45 was my 1st pistol, it was kinda heavy but worked good. Traded for a 2nd gen G23 when they came out.
