We have several of the new model Pythons and my son was shooting one of his when the rear sight almost fell off his 4-inch model.
He put it back but noticed it has a lot of slack left and right.
To be honest, I haven't got around to shooting any of mine, not like they will be as collectable as the originals are but I simply haven't gotten around to
it, may need to get new sights for all of them.

I’m curious; why not send the gun back to Colt?
It may be a known issue to them and maybe they have an upgrade or a fix for the rear sights.
If anything, it may be a warranty repair.

I just did a DDG search using “colt python rear sight problem” in the search window and numerous links appeared regarding Colt rear sight issues. I would call Colt.

Many owners of the 2020 model bought the
Wilson Combat offering for around $100.
$100 bucks! Naw Man, was thinking about putting the New Python as my buys of 2024… But NOPE, not until Colt Fix that rear sight

I like the square notch over the U...
The U-notch is Bill Wilson's favorite/choice for his guns.
At first I didn't like it but after a while, I did. The square
notch is traditional that I think it is hard to break a habit.
I believe the U-notch actually dates back to the 19th Cent.

Don't count on that happening anytime soon. I put the Wilson on my King Cobra Target(yes, it fits) and it was a total upgrade.
I've been eyeballing Pythons and Anacondas myself and I've already figured a Wilson in with the price. At $1400-1600 for the price of admission, what's 100 bux more.....

You’re right… When I get one, I’ll send the factory sight's right into Colt!

The Wilson set is excellent. You’ll be looking at more like $190 total if you get the rear with the matching gold bead front sight, but it’s really well made. You can just do the rear and keep the original front ramp, that’s $110 now.

will be looking for a used Python with the Wilsons already installed!

Problem SOLVED

Story is Kensight is developing a sight for the New Python. They own the old Colt Accro and Elliason Target sights.

Also, Harrison Designs sell an improved replacement rear sight blade for the New Python.
Consensus is that the Wilson sight is the way to go.

maybe i should have ordered it after christmas it was around 80 bucks then and i was mulling purchasing the front sight as well but decided to wait after the holidays. i am not grouping that well with the gun and i am blaming the sight for now.

You can send them back and wait. I put Wilson's on mine and consider it an upgrade. I like the square notch over the U...
Do the Wilson's hold up to recoil? Do they stay on target after you adjust them?
