Any thoughts on the MILLENNIUM PT111 9mm PISTOL?

Had a Millenium Pro PT 111 for about 2 years and just recently sold it. It was accurate, dependable and felt good shooting. It never hesitated with any ammo that I used including PMC 230 gr. hardball, Blazer brass, Federal Hydrashock, Speer Gold Dot (my favorite) or any other ammo I tried. I put about 6000 rounds through it. The only reason I sold it was that it was a bit too heavy and thick for ultimate concealment in some of the situations that I needed it for.

I've been thinking about getting one in two-tone to compliment my PT 24/7 PRO in 9mm... the PT111's bigger brother.

Mag release button was too sensitive for me. The way I gripped the gun, my thumb was always inadvertantly dropping my mag into my hand. Enough was enough, it was replaced with a Glock 26. The G26 is also more accurate and to me more fun to shoot. It's also a bit thicker, though.

My wife has one. We had a minor issue early on, but Taurus fixed it the first time, in a timely manner. Other than the heavy trigger, it works well. It has shot everything I've fed it, and it's reasonably accurate.

Own a Taurus PT111 Mil/pro. As for the heavy trigger pull, haven't encountered one so far that has unless comparing to a 1911 or target trigger. Have over 4500 rounds through the PT111 and no bobbles. Use standard pressure loads. One has to scrutinize closely what +P 9mm. loads ine uses. Factory manual states nothing over 124 grain weight at not over 1224 feet per second velocity. There are +P loads that hit on or are below that mark. Sight picture was easy and quick to pick up.Trigger pull was light and the same time shot for shot. Use the magazine base plate extension and have shot much better than with the pinky finger dangling under the grip. If it fits you and fills the niche you need it for I recommend it. There are other makes and models out there,but the price was also right with this pistol.Go to www.uinited forums.com and click on the Taurus Forum. Peruse the threads there. Hit the search function for the PT111 Mil/pro and see what pops up. There have been trolls there who never actually owned one and posted they had them anyway. There are also those who were unfamilar and new to shooting and made rookie mistakes.Easy remedies or training took care of the problems. Accumulating shooting experience with any firearm takes time. Holsters for PT145s will fit the PT111 Mil/pro as will some Glock 26 holsters. Taurus made frame demension changes when the PT111 was upgraded to Millenium Pro status. Regular PT111 holsters will not fit the Mil/ Pro models. So, good luck on your quest and let us know what you chose to do.
I am very unhappy with my Pt111 Ti
I would just like to shout out my thoughts on this gun. I bought a PT111 pro titanium model back in april to replace an old Grendel P12 as my backpacking carry gun. After exactly 542 rounds of winchester target ammo it broke in early May. The captive recoil assembly snapped. Well shattered into a million pieces is a better description.. So I called Taurus USA. A nice lady answers "ok, no problem we'll send one out you should see it in 10 days" 3 weeks later I call again. No record of me ever needing parts. So I go through the song and dance again. Now it's December and I still haven't Received my parts. I call once every few weeks. No one can tell me when I'll get a replacement part. I am currently feeling like I never will. I've tried to get a manager or another person on the phone who can at least answer my questions better then the line "I can't tell you sir" but have had zero luck.
I wanted to post here because I often read the forums and feel other peoples opinions have been right on for other purchases I've made and I should share my terrible experience with the company. I will certainly never buy another Taurus product again and when, or maybe if is a better word, I ever see the replacement parts I am selling the gun.
In terms of shooting the Titatinum model I did not enjoy shooting it one bit. The apparent recoil is quite sharp and the DAO trigger pull is long and heavy. I've shot a lot of 9mm and this one is by far the most unenjoyable of all of them to shoot. The range officer at the local gun club tried it along with a number of other people in the club and all of us agree that it's a very sharp recoil for a 9mm. I believe that it's likely due to the extremely light weight of the Ti slide. If it hadn't of broken on me after a couple weeks I might have enjoyed it more.
Anyways, wanted to share my 2 cents.

Never had a problem with mine:
Wish I still had it... or the "Pro" version I replaced it with later on.
Either are great carry guns.
By the way... the older guns with heavy triggers can be made much more "shootable" by cutting a couple of coils off the striker spring. Shouldn't be necessary with the new SA guns though.
