Hi, Any pet loads for 308 W748 over 150gr. Spire Point (Hornady) It will be out of a Rem. Model 7 20" bbl. I was thinking of starting with 45gr. I was also considering Core-Lokt 150gr. PSP. Thanks for all info!

Welcome to THR, OTridgeline.

I do not load 308, so I'm relying on Hodgdon's data at www.hodgdon.com.
They do not list a starting load but the Max load is 48.5gr, so I would think that your start load of 45gr would be fine. It's not a 10% reduction, but I would use it and Ive been doing this over 45 years. I suggest using a magnum primer with the ball powder, if you have them.
It should be fine with any 150gr bullet that you select.

Depends on brass and primer being used. Am using Fed brass, CCI 34 primer and Nosler BT. Am uncomfortable going above 46.0 grains 748, which is very accurate. With thinner brass, different primer and bullet with shorter bearing length, ya can probaly go higher. There is a significant weight difference in different brands of brass, and would suggest use of a chronograph.

Thanks for the welcome and replies. I just started reloading about a year ago, so far everything has been great/more accurate. I dont have a chrony so I was hoping to copy/borrow someone elses load. I know nothing replaces trigger time:D Thanks!!!
