While possibly esoteric, and certainly not essential, I am nonetheless interested if anyone has a lead on the following Beretta autoloader accessories:

1. Beretta 96FS/G/D/Centurion top ends. I once had a kit that I bought from CDNN. It worked flawlessly with my 92FS frame, even feeding from 9x19mm magazines without a hitch. Foolishly, I sold it, and it would be cool if I could find another top end at a reasonable price.

2. Beretta 8045F 4" barrel. I'm really panning for hen's teeth here, but rumor is that Beretta issued a 4" barrel for a California police department, and that they may have ended up on the civilian market. Any clues, THR sleuths?

--Sorry-I reread your post and saw you have a 92 and want to shoot 40, not the other way I first thought.

For the 96 to shoot 9mm, all you should need to do is replace the barrel. The magazines are the same between models and the barrels have the same OD.

I probably would not trust a .40 bolt face/extractor to work on 9mm in a carry gun, but for range use it should be reliable enough.

Do a Google search on converting a 96 to 9mm.

I would hang out in the classified ads section of the Berettaforum.net

Rare stuff pops up occasionally

A quick search turned up a 96D slide (with all internal parts), on Ebay starting at $149.99 There's also a complete 96D slide on Gunbroker (listing #411258987), with a buy it now price of $375.

Thank you for all of the suggestions. I guess I am kind of a Luddite in that I have never ordered anything off of E-Bay, but I am somewhat more trusting of Gunbroker. I was hoping for an internet vendor that I had overlooked.

I will definitely check out the Beretta forum. :)
