I tried this over at GT but got no response.

Anybody know why my truck does this? Transmission?
I have a 2002 Tundra V8. It's a great truck for my commuting purposes and weekend Home Depot trips.

I have noticed that while decellerating just before I come to a stop, say at 15 MPH, I get a shudder NOT felt in the steering wheel. It happens whether or not the brakes are applied. I just can't tell if it's the tires or transmission. I've tried putting it in neutral while slowing down and it does seem to help...I think. It feel like you're riding over one of those rumble strips on on the road.

Can anyone help?

It is fairly new, so I would take it back to the dealer and have them sort it out. It could be several things. U-Joint going bad, tranny bearing, or something in the differential. Get a paper trail at the dealer going, in case it turns out to be something substantial, or there is a service bulletin issued about it.

my 96 t-bird shuddered when i first got it at about 20mph or so. took it to get the tranny fluid changed and it stopped altogether. if it is the fluid burnt (will be a black color rather than red) you might want to think about getting a tranmission fluid cooler (looks kind of like a tiny radiator) it will extend the life of your tranny.

most cars dont need the fliud changed for around 70k miles, some (like mine) need it done around 10k, they just seem to burn it up a lot faster and run hot
